Hi Bearcats!  On behalf of Joy (Pratt) Stanford and Mike Williams, we hope you are all healthy and doing okay as we hopefully look at Covid-19 in the rear view mirror.  

 

And now for some much needed good news and something to look forward!  We are pleased to invite you to the annual San Mateo High Schools’ Senior Awards Night to be held on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 at 6:30PM PST.  We are happy to assemble in person again!  More details on the outdoor location are TBD. 

 

Jim Enes will represent our Class of 1983 with pride to present the 8th annual Darryl Usher Student Athlete Scholarship Award.  We ALL started this scholarship at our 30th reunion in the basement of King Fish restaurant.  This year, our class is happy to announce that we are again able to present *TWO* scholarships. This scholarship award, funded entirely by donations from classmates, friends and family, comes with a check in the amount of $1,000 each to two deserving Bearcat seniors to use towards college education.

About the Darryl Usher Student Athlete Scholarship award requirements:

• a graduating SMHS senior
• leader on a SMHS athletic team or sport over his or her time at SMHS
• highly improved GPA (ending with a minimum of a 2.5) based on much effort in junior and/or senior years
• attending either a Community College or 4 year university with plans to compete in his or her chosen field of athletics
• the winner of this award will be a true team player, who is dedicated to and successful in his or her sport and yet remains humble to his/her teammates, classmates and coaches
